Wander

This piece is another Breckenridge summer, illustrated. Hikes, a bit of white water rafting, and the wildlife that made the trip unforgettable, moose on two separate days and a mountain lion watching from a ridge above.

My approach:

• I built the scene around a moose standing in a wildflower meadow, with WANDER hand lettered right into the rushing river to anchor the whole piece

• I wanted the details to tell the story of the trip itself, bees and butterflies in the flowers, a bald eagle overhead, a hummingbird catching the light, and the fox that actually showed up on the trail. The bear is still on our list for next time

• Boots, a backpack, and a tent made their way in too, aspirational camping gear included, since we're really hotel people at heart
