Snowmade Cocoa

This piece grew out of a memory more than a concept, skating pond afternoons from my Wisconsin childhood, bundled up until we could warm up with cocoa by the rink.

My approach:

• I wanted the whimsy to come from the twist: these snowmen and snow kids line up for cocoa too, except theirs is served iced, since, well, they're snowmen

• Cozy details mattered here. Sweaters, hats, and scarves on every character, snow falling gently to add a little sparkle without overwhelming the scene

• I set it beside a bustling ice rink to give the piece a sense of place and activity beyond just the cocoa stand itself

Good fit for: holiday cards, seasonal decor, art prints, and winter products
